atha prasūtikālajñāpikā grahasthitiḥ |
tatkāla indusahito dvirasaṃśako yastatulyarāśisahite purataḥ śaśāṅke |
yāvānudeti dinarātrisamānabhāgastāvadrate dinaniśoḥ pravadanti janma ||

Now, the planetary position indicating the time of delivery: / The degree of the sign associated with the Moon at that time—when the Moon moves forward to be accompanied by an equal zodiacal sign, / just as much of an equal division of day or night rises, precisely at that fraction of the day or night they declare the birth [to occur].
