kiñcillābhakaro bālaḥ kumārastvadhalābhadaḥ ||
sarvasiddhiṃ yuvā dhatte vṛddhe hānirmṛte kṣyaḥ ||

The child brings slight gain, but the youth grants half gain;
the young adult brings all accomplishment; in the old is loss; in the dead, destruction.
