[On the words] 'at the time of battle': when the Moon flows for the defending warrior at the time of battle, then the defending warrior is certainly victorious; [when] the Sun's flow [operates] for the marching warrior, victory occurs. That is to say, battle should be engaged by the defending warrior during the flow of the left breath, and by the marching warrior during the flow of the right breath. [On the words] 'in the earthly [element]': this is easy to understand. [On the words] 'placed in the full channel': the full limb of the body situated in the full channel [should be turned] behind, and the empty limb should be placed in front of him. An enemy placed in the empty position dies; there is no doubt about this. This is the meaning: at the moment when a blow is struck against an enemy, having positioned him in the direction where the sound does not flow, one should strike him. Likewise, at the moment of a blow struck by the enemy, whichever sound is not flowing,
