ekapakṣākṣare caikaḥ svaraścedyo dhayordvayoḥ ||
śukle gauro pare kṛṣṇo yuddhe jayati niścitam ||
And if two combatants share an identical vowel-sound and their letters belong to the same fortnight, / the fair-complexioned one conquers in battle in the bright [fortnight], and the dark-complexioned one definitely [conquers] in the other.
