> At that time, Kumāra-Kāśyapa was wandering through the country of Kosala together with five hundred bhikṣus, gradually arriving at the brāhmaṇa village of Setavyā. Kumāra-Kāśyapa then stayed in the Śiṃśapā Grove north of Setavyā village. At that time, there was a brāhmaṇa named Pāyāsi who resided in Setavyā village. This village was affluent and pleasant, with a large population and luxuriant trees. King Pasenadi had separately granted this village to the brāhmaṇa Pāyāsi as a brahmadeya gift. The brāhmaṇa Pāyāsi constantly harbored deviant views, proclaiming to people: 'There is no other world, nor is there rebirth, nor is there fruit or retribution of good and evil deeds.'
> — English (machine translation) (machine translation)

> There was a priest named Padāśva who lived in Śvetikā. The town was bountiful and happy, the people were numerous, and trees grew abundantly there. King Prasenajit had awarded this town to the priest Padāśva as his priestly due. This priest Padāśva constantly harbored unorthodox views, telling people, “There’s no other world, nor is their rebirth or the results of good and bad actions.”
