also said: “Mātaṅge mātaṅge | mātaṅgini | śūmā śāmu |” Dhṛtarāṣṭra also said: “Care care re svāhā |” Virūpākṣa also said: “Valampipa |” The Blessed One said: “Great kings, if anyone recites this spell beheld by all the buddhas once each day, one should look upon that son of good family or daughter of good family with the perception of the Teacher. That son of good family or daughter of good family will not go to the three bad rebirths. This will benefit the lives of all sentient beings. Whoever recites it aloud every day for the sake of all sentient beings, and whoever reads it, will have no terror of untimely death. No wicked disease will arise in their body. They will not meet their death by water. Nor by fire, nor by weapons, nor by poison, nor by lightning bolts. Wherever the sons of the Conqueror recite this spell, that region should be known to be remembered by all the buddhas and bodhisattvas. Whoever writes it down or causes it to be written down will have paid homage with all manners of respect to the Buddha, the Blessed One. Why is that? Because the tathāgatas say: 'Serving sentient beings is serving the Buddha.' Whoever writes this down and binds it to a limb, all their limbs will be protected.” After the Blessed One had spoken thus, the four great kings, that entire assembly, and the world with its devas, humans, asuras, and gandharvas rejoiced and praised what the Blessed One had said. The Noble Dhāraṇī Entitled “Possessing the Limbs of All the Buddhas”
