佛說是時，座上無央數人聞佛說無常法，皆共悲哀念對難免，欣然得道逮須陀洹證。
When the Buddha said this, countless people in the assembly heard the Buddha speak the teaching of anitya; all together grieved and realized that retribution is hard to escape, and rejoicing, they attained the Way and realized the fruit of the srotāpanna.
In consequence of this sermon, countless men who heard it were able to enter the paths.
