Homage to the Three Jewels!
p2
Homage to the overlord of yakṣas, Blue-Clad Vajrapāṇi,
p3
Authorized by as many Buddhas as grains of sand in the river Ganges,
p4
You who appear baring your fangs;
p5
You whose eyes are like masses of flames;
p6
You whose breath blazes with fiery tongues;
p7
You whose roar terrifies;
p8
You whose hands and legs are adorned with the nāga Vāsuki;
p9
You who sport the nāga Kāla as a sash;
p10
You who make the nāgas Nanda and Upananda your earrings;
p11
You who don a jeweled crown of blazing snakes;
p12
You who consume blazing poisonous serpents;
p13
You whose visage is expansive;
p14
You whose eyebrows and forehead are tensed;
p15
You whose upper teeth bite your lower lip;
p16
You whose accoutrements are those of Yāma;
p17
You whose tongue moves as fast as lightning;
p18
You whose large belly digests snakes;
p19
You who terrify with the sound of clapping hands;
p20
You, on whose belt, Garuḍa, the ruler of nāgas, is tied;
p21
You who proclaim, “A la la!”
p22
You whose shins reach 80,000 leagues down to the depths of the ocean;
p23
You who bear Indra and Sūrya upon your shoulders;
p24
You who annihilate all nāgas;
p25
You whose bellowing laughter makes everything tremble;
p26
You who have the appearance of Yāma;
p27
You who frighten the three realms;
p28
You, the slayer of nāgas!
