> There are five matters regarding mealtimes: first, a bhikṣu who has eaten must not say, 'Who knows when I will die? Just bring more food so I can eat my fill'; second, after a bhikṣu has eaten, if someone brings more food to give to the full \[monk\], the bhikṣu must not accept it; third, if a bhikṣu has leftover food, he must not throw it at people, nor may he throw it onto the grass; fourth, if there is leftover food, it must be poured onto clean ground; fifth, if someone has a little leftover food and invites the bhikṣu to go and eat, he should not stay on his alms round but should accept the invitation to eat.
