> Furthermore, in the kingdom of Vārāṇasī there was a chief minister brāhmaṇa whose household was very wealthy, possessing abundant treasures—gold, silver, vaidūrya, coral, amber, elephants, horses, cattle, sheep, lands, and servants—all in ample supply. When he was over eighty years old, a son was born to him, whose appearance was wondrous and upright, endowed with the human marks. His parents were overjoyed; they summoned physiognomists to divine his auspiciousness, and gave him a name, calling him Cunda. When he was just seven years old, his parents, out of love and care, permitted him to go forth; he went to Mount Kṣatriyendrila to the place of the Tathāgata.
