Within this portal, there are two portals. What are the two? First, the portal of the excellence of boundless greatness of essence; second, the portal of the excellence of inexhaustible retinue; these are named the two. Regarding the portal of the excellence of boundless greatness of essence: practicing this samādhi, one thoroughly penetrates the dharmas of all immeasurable Buddhas, because they are identical in essence, of one characteristic, and without distinction. As the root \[text\] says: 'Furthermore, by relying on this samādhi, one knows the single characteristic of the dharmadhātu—namely, that the dharmakāya of all Buddhas and the bodies of sentient beings are equal and non-dual—hence it is called the single-practice samādhi.' Regarding the portal of the excellence of inexhaustible retinue: namely, it is the tathatā-samādhi that can serve as the proper root for all immeasurable and boundless vajra-samādhis, and is able to bring them forth and cause them to grow.
