'If I formed this thought, "I have attained \[the path of an\] arhat,"' and so forth means that there would then be grasping at a self, a person, and so forth, afflictions would still remain, and one could not be without dispute; the Bhagavat would not have declared me to be one of non-disputatious conduct, because there would be dispute.
