- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.228](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1700.1.228)

> The commentary states: This refutes the second doubt regarding grasping the body of the Dharma King for oneself. Within it, there is first the question, and next the answer. This refers to the doubt: "Previously it was said that the noble ones are differentiated through the unconditioned (asaṃskṛta) and that there is neither preaching nor grasping. Why then does the reward body (saṃbhogakāya) itself enjoy the bliss of the Dharma and grasp for itself the body of the Dharma King? If it is said that its body is boundless and pervasively encompasses the dharmadhātu, then all the worlds again grasp it, saying, 'That is the body of the Dharma King.'" It is to eliminate this doubt \[that the verse was spoken\]. The verse stating "like the king of mountains without grasping" means that just as Mount Sumeru sits atop the multitude of mountains, yet it has no conception that "I am the king of mountains"; sentient beings have conceptual minds, and so they themselves grasp it as the king of mountains. The reward Buddha is also like this: having no conceptual mind, he does not say for himself, "I am the body of the Dharma King"; because sentient beings have conceptualization, they generate the discrimination, saying, "He is the Dharma King." The Buddha has no conceptual mind, and so he does not grasp for himself \[the thought that\] he is the body of the Dharma King.
