- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [2.297](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1700.2.297)

> The commentary states: This is the second \[part\], comparing it with merit. That is, through thoroughly comprehending the emptiness of the two kinds of self, one attains patience; this merit surpasses the merit of that giving. Concerning “achieving patience,” there are three kinds of patience: first, the patience of innate non-arising, which means contemplating that the two marks of person and dharma, which are imagined, inherently lack intrinsic entity; second, the patience of spontaneous non-arising, contemplating that other-dependent provisional causes and conditions do not arise spontaneously; third, the patience of the non-arising of affliction and suffering, contemplating that in tathatā, affliction and suffering fundamentally never arise.
