- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [2.106](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1702.2.106)

> From 'In Sanskrit...' downward: The new \[transcription\] says fanzuoluo (vajra). What is held by the strongman is as the sūtra explains. The vajra-holding deity, in Sanskrit called nuojianna (nagna), translated here as the naked deity, is this strongman. 'Hardest among metals': The word metal generally applies to the five \[metals\]; because this is the most refined and hard, the word 'hard' (gang) is applied. Furthermore, it is not an object of the human world, hence it is said that Śakra Devānām Indra possesses it. It is a supreme jewel of the heavens, hence it is said that those of meager merit can hardly see it. The Zhenglilun (Nyāyānusāra) says: 'Śakra possesses a jewel named vajra, which cannot be seen by sentient beings of meager merit.'
