答：「用有勝劣故分因果，體無增減因果一如。故《普賢觀》云：『大乘因者諸法實相，大乘果者亦諸法實相。』《華嚴經疏》云：『理開體用名大方廣，智分因果號佛華嚴。』」

> Answer: 'Because its functions have superior and inferior \[aspects\], cause and fruit are distinguished; because its essence neither increases nor decreases, cause and fruit are as one. Therefore, the Puxian guan (Samantabhadra Contemplation Sūtra) says: "The cause of the Great Vehicle is the dharmatā of all phenomena; the fruit of the Great Vehicle is also the dharmatā of all phenomena." The Huayan jing shu says: "When principle opens into essence and function, it is named Great, Correct, and Vast (mahā-vaipulya); when cognition is divided into cause and fruit, it is called the Buddha's Garland (buddha-avataṃsaka)."'
