### [2.19](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1702.2.19)

由執起障煩惱，即根隨等，此依我執而起，如前逐妄中說，所知即根本無明也。故《起信論》云：「無明義者名為智礙，即所知障也。」此依法執而起。

> From grasping arise obstacles: afflictions are the root and derivative \[afflictions\] and so forth, which arise dependent on grasping at self, as expounded earlier under pursuing delusion. What is to be known is fundamental ignorance. Thus the Awakening of Faith says: "The meaning of ignorance is called the obstruction of wisdom, which is the obstruction of the knowable." This arises dependent on grasping at dharmas.
