金剛經纂要刊定記 5.281

- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [5.281](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1702.5.281)

無得。經意者，恐人聞非無如來，便言既有如來即有菩提。何者？以得菩提，方名如來故。為破此見，故云：有人言得，實無得也。無有法即菩提法也。

> "No attainment." The meaning of the sūtra is that it fears people, upon hearing that the Tathāgata is not non-existent, will then say that since there is a Tathāgata, there must be bodhi. Why is this? Because it is only by attaining bodhi that one is called a Tathāgata. To shatter this view, it therefore says: If someone says \[the Tathāgata\] attained \[it\], in reality there is no attainment. "No dharma" is the dharma of bodhi.
