> "Preaching the Dharma has no self-characteristic": the treatise says: "This explains 'there is no Dharma that can be preached.'" This means that marks are identical to nature, and that spoken words are conditionally arisen and without self-nature. Another interpretation: the two lines from "not apart from the dharmadhātu" downwards both explain "there is no Dharma that can be preached." This means that these two kinds \[of Dharma\] are not apart from the dharmadhātu, and apart from the dharmadhātu there are no distinct self-characteristics of the two dharmas that can be found; because the self-characteristics of these two dharmas are fundamentally empty and unattainable, this uses the lower line to explain the upper line.
