If a person hears the sūtra and their faith is pure, then the true mark can arise. He also said that for him now to encounter the Buddha and get to hear this sūtra was not considered difficult, but for future sentient beings to get to hear this Dharma is truly rare. The reason they are rare is that by cultivating according to this sūtra, the four marks of self, person, sentient being, and life-span do not arise, which is indeed non-mark; non-mark is itself the true mark.
