- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [5.39](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1705.5.39)

> From "Great king, once a day" onward, the third clarifies the time of exposition. From "Within your state" onward, the third clarifies that which is able to protect, which is the essence of protection. Abroad, in the \*Sūtra of the Meaning According to the Gold-Eyed Sage\*, it states that there are ten fundamental spirits, each unfolding ten into a hundred: first, great spirits; second, child spirits; third, mother spirits; fourth, Brahmā spirits; fifth, wild-goose-headed spirits; sixth, nāga spirits; seventh, asuras; eighth, sand spirits; ninth, yakṣa spirits; and tenth, rākṣasa spirits.
