### [1.135](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1707.1.135)

> Second, from "the six vijñānas giving rise to immeasurable" onwards concludes by revealing what is true and clarifying the meaning of emptiness. In the text there are two parts: first, clarifying that defiled dharmas are empty; second, from "sarvajñā" onwards, clarifying that pure dharmas are empty. In the former, first it clarifies birth and death in delineated segments, clarifying that the stores of the three realms are empty. From "fundamental ignorance" onwards, it clarifies that the substance of birth and death of transformation is empty. First, clarifying that delineated \[birth and death\] is empty: as for "the six vijñānas giving rise to immeasurable desire", afflictions arise everywhere from the five desires. Arising in reliance on desire, it is therefore called a "store". "Empty" means that its substance is intrinsically non-existent. From "arisen from delusion regarding rūpa" onwards, it clarifies that the store of the rūpadhātu is empty. Regarding afflictions, this is the entrenchment of attachment to rūpa, which arises from rūpa. Within the rūpadhātu all five skandhas are present, but rūpa is the strongest, hence it says "rūpa". Regarding its karma, it is non-moving action. Regarding its retributive effect, it still belongs to delineated segments. As for "the karma and effects arisen from delusion regarding mind is called the store of the ārūpyadhātu being empty", the ārūpyadhātu has only the four skandhas, lacking rūpa, hence it says "mind". Regarding afflictions, it is the entrenchment of attachment to existence; regarding its karma, non-moving action; regarding its retributive effect, it still belongs to delineated segments. Regarding environmental retribution, the kāmadhātu and rūpadhātu are explained as having palaces and residences, whereas the ārūpyadhātu is purely mind in tranquil silence, without palaces.
