> From "At that time, among the sixteen great kings" downward is the fourth \[part\], clarifying that the Tathāgata's affairs are incomprehensible. The text has two \[parts\]: first, providing King Prasenajit's name; from "Virtuous conduct" downward, praising his virtues. First, in explaining the name, two reasons are provisionally explained: If named according to his parents, he was called Jitasena ("Conquering Army"). Born on the same day as the Tathāgata, in later life he was a hero of great resourcefulness who could crush strong enemies and was constantly victorious wherever he fought, so his parents bestowed the name Jitasena. Second, "Candrodbhāsa" (Moonlight) was his title given by the people of the world. The Buddha is like the light of the sun; King Prasenajit assisted the Buddha just like moonlight, hence he was named Moonlight. From "Virtuous conduct \[in\] the ten stages" downward is next, clarifying the praise of his virtues. As for the so-called "ten stages," it is as explained above. The "six perfections" are: first, dāna, with relinquishing wealth as its capability; second, śīla, with preventing wrongdoing as its meaning; third, kṣānti, with ceasing anger as its function; fourth, vīrya, with urging diligence as its utility; fifth, dhyāna, with collecting the mind as its virtue; sixth, prajñā, with discerning without attachment \[to dualistic signs\]. These are fully explained in the Dazhidulun. As for the "thirty-seven factors \[of awakening\]," there are three fours, two fives, a single seven, and a single eight. Although called thirty-seven, they have ten dharmas as their foundation, namely: faith, precept, mindfulness, concentration, wisdom, diligence, reflection, pliancy, joy, and equanimity. Expanding six and combining four among the ten makes thirty-seven. Expanding six means dividing faith into two: the faculty of faith and the power of faith. Dividing precepts into three: right speech, right action, and right livelihood. Dividing mindfulness into four: the faculty of mindfulness, the power of mindfulness, the factor of awakening of mindfulness, and right mindfulness. Diligence has eight: the four right exertions, the faculty of diligence, the power of diligence, the factor of awakening of diligence, and right diligence. Expanding concentration into eight: the four bases of psychic power, the faculty of concentration, the power of concentration, the factor of awakening of concentration, and right concentration. Expanding wisdom into eight means: the four foundations of mindfulness, the faculty of wisdom, the power of wisdom, the factor of awakening of dharma-analysis, and right view. The "four kinds of unshakeable purity" are unshakeable faith in the Buddha, faith in the Dharma, faith in the Saṅgha, and faith in the precepts. "Engaged in transforming \[beings through\] the Mahāyāna" refers to the Mahāyāna that Moonlight propagated.
