- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.294](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1708.1.294)

> Commentary: Next below, the second part explains correct contemplation. The text has distinctly two parts: first, clarifying the expedient correct contemplation; second, clarifying the stage-entry correct contemplation. This is the first. That is, from the ten faiths upwards to the ten dedications, all engage in this contemplation. The principle of emptiness that is contemplated is equally of one taste among all phenomena, without any characteristics of moving or shifting. Because there is no moving or shifting, it does not arrive. Arriving has the meaning of arising; because there is no motion, there is no arising; because there is no arising, there is also no characteristic of cessation; because there is neither arising nor cessation, there is also no characteristic of existence. Since characteristics are absent, in opposition to what could one speak of signlessness? Therefore it says "there is no signlessness." For this reason, all phenomena are thus. If relying on the previous explanation, "unmoved" and so forth belonged to the contemplating mind, which would then not accord well with the meaning here that all phenomena are thus.
