> Question: Under which of the three bodies is this Buddha Baoman subsumed? Some say: the self-enjoyment body (svasaṃbhogakāya). This statement is not so, because the self-enjoyment land lacks an assembly listening to the Dharma. Some say: the other-enjoyment body (parasaṃbhogakāya). This is also not so, because assemblies numerous as dust motes listen to the Buddha's preaching. The present explanation is: within the transformation body (nirmāṇakāya), it is a distinction between root and branches; it is not an enjoyment body (further examine the Anuttarāśraya-sūtra and the Mahāyānābhisamaya-sūtra regarding what distinction exists between Vairocana and Śākyamuni).
