> Exposition: In the previous remedied objects, arousing the mind constitutes an inversion; in these remedying practices, moving a thought constitutes a disease. One only remedies the simultaneous view; one does not actually eradicate the dharmas. It is just like grain and weeds growing together in the same cluster: one weeds out the weeds together with them, but does not discard the grain. When correctly practicing the various practices, a mind capable of seeing arises; remedying that arising mind makes it free from discrimination, for practicing without anything practiced is precisely correct practice. This passage of the sūtra applies generally to the stages of the worthy and the noble: in the practice prior to the bhūmis, its characteristics have not yet ended and there is abiding with effort; if there is a distracted mind, characteristics are also not yet eradicated, so it applies generally to their remedy. The four attractions and the four truths have already been clarified above. The six perfections, the two truths, and the four fearlessnesses will be distinguished below. "Powers" refers to the ten powers—possibility and impossibility and so forth—as usually distinguished. "All other practices" means not only the gates of practice reached here, but all the myriads of practices cultivated by bodhisattvas are universally taken as contemplation. Next is the third \[part\]: regarding the practitioners capable of the practice.
