> Commentary: If one can dwell in the mind of compassion and wisdom as described above, cultivating excellent practices on the bhūmis and before the bhūmis without clinging to nature or characteristics, one will definitely attain the perfection of the fruit; this is true cultivation reaching the other shore. The sūtra text above briefly sets forth the essential tenet, with the World-Honoured One outlining the meaning of the entire work; the text below discriminates in detail the subtle distinctions between principle and phenomena, yet when reaching their ultimate principle, there is no difference at all. Furthermore, it is not only this one work: throughout the extensive texts of the Mahāyāna teachings, dwelling, cultivation, and the severing of obstacles are permeated by a single principle. All the subsequent passages proceed first from the concise to the extensive, and can be understood in full accordingly. The second major section clarifies the specific questions and answers. The text is divided into three: first, specific questions and answers; second, general questions and answers; third, concluding the fruits of protection. The first, specific questions and answers, is divided into three: first, clarifying the true mark; second, clarifying contemplative illumination; third, clarifying written words. The first, clarifying the true mark, is divided into two: first, King Prasenajit's question. What is its meaning?
