The intent of the question is that, because sentient beings are deluded and lack the eye of wisdom, they hope for the bodhisattva's compassion to benefit living beings. If bodhisattvas and sentient beings share the identical dharmatā, and the dharmatā is equal and without duality or distinction, then if there is no duality or distinction, by what dharma does a bodhisattva transform sentient beings?
