> The commentary states: "Buddha, Dharma, and Saṅgha" enumerates the names of the Three Jewels. Their one substance is true suchness, which is the nature of kṣānti itself. The speaker, what is spoken, and all practitioners are their distinct aspects. The term "ocean" praises the profound breadth of kṣānti, which encompasses the Three Jewels, accumulated to form a treasury. As for "immeasurable virtues," conditioned and unconditioned virtues like the sands of the Ganges are all amassed within kṣānti; hence it says "gathered." This concludes praising the profundity of what was spoken and clarifying the three actions. Next, the second section consists of twenty-six and a half lines extensively praising the five kṣāntis. It is divided into two: first, twenty-four lines extensively praise the five kṣāntis; next, two and a half lines praise the Buddha's profound compassion. The first part, clarifying the five kṣāntis, is divided into two: first, twenty-three lines extensively clarify the five kṣāntis; next, one line contrasts cause and result. In clarifying the five kṣāntis, there are broadly six divisions: first, four and a half lines specifically clarify the suppressing kṣānti. This is divided into two: first, generally praising the four types of kings; next, generally clarifying the suppressing kṣānti. The first part is further divided into two: first, clarifying the stage of the ten good deeds.
