> Question: Are these two classes—the cognitive obscuration and the coarseness of anger—severed together, or not? Answer: To explain what is abandoned: although the two classes are distinct, one does not, apart from the obscuration, separately generate an uninterrupted path to sever the coarseness of anger. This \[coarseness\] has accompanied the cognitive obscuration since beginningless time, with the cognitive obscuration being the root; because the root obscuration is severed by the uninterrupted path, the coarseness of anger and the coarseness of the cognitive obscuration are relinquished simultaneously in the path of liberation.
