> From here below is the third \[part\], revealing the fruit attained. Within this there are two parts: first, directly clarifying the attainment of the fruit; later, citing examples to verify and establish it. In the former there are two: first, discerning that contemplation has efficacy; later, revealing the fruit attained; this is the first. Within this there are three: first, 'because there is anupalambha' discerns that emptiness is free from marks. In principle, true emptiness is free from the dharmas of the six gates; raising the latter to reveal the former, it merely says 'no attainment'. Next, 'bodhisattvas' refers to the contemplative person generating the aspiration. As explained above, bodhi means awakening, and sattva means the sentient beings to be transformed; seeking bodhi above and transforming sentient beings below, generating this wisdom and compassion, one is called a bodhisattva. Finally, 'relying on prajñāpāramitā, have minds without hindrance' discerns that contemplation has efficacy. Translating the names and explaining the meanings should be known as above; prajñā is called wisdom, which is discernment among the object-determining \[mental factors\]; the word 'mind' indicates the mind associated with discernment. Mind has two kinds, namely nature and characteristics; hindrance refers to the two hindrances of defilement and knowledge. The general purport of the explanation is: because the true principle of emptiness is free from the six marks, the bodhisattva who generates the aspiration relies on that contemplative wisdom to enable the mind associated with discernment to realize emptiness and sever the hindrances; unlike pṛthagjanas and those of the two vehicles who grasp at existence, \[the bodhisattva\] internally realizes the two kinds of emptiness and severs the two hindrances.
