> If sentient beings constituted by the ten causes and conditions take joy in hearing that the ineffable lands and ineffable aggregates, realms, and sense fields are all suchness and true reality, he then directly expounds that the dependent and proper \[retributions\] of all lands are none other than the Ever Tranquil Light; all aggregates and sense fields are none other than bodhi, and apart from these there is no bodhi; a single color or a single fragrance is nothing other than the Middle Way, and apart from these there is no separate Middle Way; the eyes, ears, nose, and tongue are all gates of serenity, and apart from these there are no separate gates of serenity. Or making verses in repetition; or making independent verses; or expounding on his own without being asked; or giving prediction to those who know; or those who know being endowed with the precepts; or making parables; or pointing to past worlds; or pointing to past births; or expounding the vast and great; or expounding the rare; or making discussions. This is responding to joy and desire as the worldly siddhānta giving rise to the twelve divisions of sūtras of the perfect teaching; or making twelve kinds of expounding to generate wonderful goodness; or making twelve kinds of expounding to suddenly destroy evil; or making twelve kinds of expounding to suddenly accord with principle—this is the four siddhāntas giving rise to the twelve divisions of sūtras of the perfect teaching.
