- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [10.17](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1716.10.17)

> Sixth, Tripiṭaka Master Buddha\[bhadra\] and the scholar Guangtong distinguished a classification of teachings into four traditions: first, the tradition of causes and conditions, pointing to the Abhidharma's six causes and four conditions; second, the tradition of provisional designations, pointing to the Tattvasiddhi-śāstra's three provisional designations; third, the tradition of deceptive characteristics, pointing to the Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā-prajñāpāramitā-sūtra and the Three Treatises; fourth, the tradition of the permanent, pointing to the Mahāparinirvāṇa-sūtra, Avataṃsaka-sūtra, and so on, with the eternally abiding buddha-nature, fundamentally existent and serene.
