> Furthermore, in terms of practice: when those of great capacity receive the sudden, they immediately shatter ignorance and attain the endurance of non-arising, so their practice is like ghee. Furthermore, although receiving this sudden \[teaching\], they are not yet able to awaken and enter, but only first establish practice; therefore, their practice is like milk. If viewed in contrast to people of small capacity, their practice is again like milk. Why? When the great teaching is directed toward the small, they are like the deaf and dumb, as it is not their own share of wisdom; their practice remains on the ordinary stage, completely unrefined like milk. For this reason, the sudden teaching at the beginning is called ghee and is also called milk; its meaning can be seen.
