> Regarding the fivefold stopping \[of the mind\] and the four stations of mindfulness: because there is concentration, it is called stopping; because there is wisdom, it is called contemplation. Contemplation can overturn the wrong; concentration can control disorder. Counting the breath cures distraction; foulness cures greed; loving-kindness cures anger; causal conditions cure delusion; mindfulness of the Buddha cures hindrances to the path. The stations of mindfulness are the four wisdoms contemplating the truth of suffering to cure the four inversions; the four inversions do not arise due to these four contemplations. Initially overturning the four inversions, not yet having entered the noble principle, it is therefore called the wisdom of external ordinary beings.
