> First, clarifying the original source and the traces in terms of principle and phenomena: from the non-abiding original source, all phenomena are established. The principle of non-abiding is the true reality and ultimate truth of the original time; all phenomena are the myriad appearances, the conventional truth of the original time. Because the true original source of true reality manifests the conventional traces, following the conventional traces reveals the true original source. Although original source and traces are distinct, they are an inconceivable unity. Therefore the text says: "Contemplating all phenomena as empty like true reality, they exist only through causes and conditions, arising from delusion (and so forth)."
