> Third, clarifying the gate of both existence and emptiness: this is that teaching clarifying that direct causes and conditions are arising and perishing, both existent and empty. If one receives this teaching, one can break through the biased views clinging to existence or non-existence; seeing causes and conditions as both existent and empty, one gives rise to the true untainted \[wisdom\]. Seeing the real through both existence and non-existence, existence and non-existence are the gate of supreme meaning. This is Kātyāyana entering the path through this gate, and therefore composing the Peṭakopadeśa, in turn expounding this gate.
