有人言：三藏破計實性，約實法求我不得，但是觀性空；大乘明相自性是空，不須撿已為空。此乃一往之言。《大品》云：常性空，無不性空時，曉了諸法，如幻化水月鏡像，豈止相空而已！

> Some say: 'The Tripiṭaka \[teaching\] refutes the reckoning of an intrinsic nature: searching for the self within actual dharmas, it cannot be found, which is merely contemplating the emptiness of nature; the Mahāyāna clarifies that marks themselves are empty of nature, without needing examination before becoming empty.' This is merely an initial, provisional remark. The Pañcaviṃśati states: 'Permanently empty of nature; there is no time when it is not empty of nature; clearly understanding that all dharmas are like an illusion, a conjuration, the moon in water, or an image in a mirror'—how could it merely be that marks are empty!
