> Third, regarding refuting that Prajñā lacks the convergence of the three \[vehicles\]: in reality, Prajñā has not yet converged those persons; here, provisionally using the convergence of teachings as a refutation is because they also did not understand the convergence of teachings without converging persons. It again has two \[parts\]: separately and generally citing the divine sons giving rise to the aspiration \[for awakening\]—though the divine sons are not of the two vehicles, their generating the bodhi \[mind\] corresponds to the meaning of convergence; next, citing the voice-hearers giving rise to the aspiration directly clarifies the meaning of convergence. This again has two \[parts\]: first, he cites the sūtra; next, from "If the voice-hearers..." downward, he explains. In the first text, saying "creating an obstruction and barrier to saṃsāra": through extinguishing wisdom and turning the body to ash, they eternally cut off saṃsāra; if they were to generate the aspiration and with great compassion benefit sentient beings, they should abide in saṃsāra and form connections with beings, whether planting \[seeds\] or liberating them, thereby bringing them to maturity; therefore, the two vehicles have already severed saṃsāra and eternally created an obstruction and barrier to saṃsāra, and thus they cannot enter back into saṃsāra to benefit beings. Speaking of "If they generate the mind of sambodhi, I also rejoice": this breaks down Hīnayāna practice and causes them to generate the great mind; although in the provisional teaching it is called 'ruined seeds', the Buddha stimulates them with the true principle; if they are able to generate the bodhi mind, I also rejoice.
