> Next, explaining that the bodhisattvas of the Tripiṭaka Teaching have not yet attained the truth of cessation, which is called not yet attaining the one, but can fully apply the four. From "Why is this?" onward explains it. Not cutting off afflictions, they are called "ill guides". Bodhisattvas of the Shared Teaching on the sixth bhūmi who are not yet skillful are equal to arhats; although they also preach the Dharma, they cannot accord with capacities, hence they are called "not yet skillful". Since the Separate Teaching's ten directions of dedication already advance in cultivating the Middle Way, their application of the similitude Middle Way surpasses that of the preceding; from ascending the bhūmis onward, their true and responsive \[bodies operate\] spontaneously.
