> Second, their arising: from the non-abiding root all dharmas are established. The non-abiding is principle; all dharmas are phenomena. Because of principle and phenomena there is teaching; due to teaching there is practice; due to practice there are bondage and liberation; due to liberation cause and effect are established; due to the effect the substance becomes manifest and capable of function, and hence there is gradual and sudden conversion; due to unfolding the gradual and sudden there is opening and merging; because of opening and merging there are shared and distinctive benefits; distinguishing the two benefits, there are the four siddhāntas. This is the sequence of the ten chapters, and so on.
