> Answer: It is because wholesome karma, karma of renown, and karma of praising parents and teachers have superior, middling, and inferior grades. If the Peak of Existence had an ear-consciousness, the Buddha's voice would also reach there. A wheel-turning king practices the ten virtues, and virtue leads to birth in the desire heavens, so the desire devas rejoice that 'our retinue increases'; Kauṇḍinya detached from desire, hence \[his sound\] penetrated to the Brahma Heaven; the Buddha is the most supreme, reaching to Akaniṣṭha (and so forth). If one relies on the Mahāyāna, the sound of the Buddha attaining the Way universally reaches a billion Akaniṣṭhas, and further pervades the Akaniṣṭhas of immeasurable and boundless worlds throughout the ten directions (and so forth).
