> Next, regarding Mahāsthāmaprāpta: the Siyi \[jing\] treats him according to practice, and the Beihua \[jing\] treats him according to vow. The Siyi \[jing\] explains 'sthāma' (might) in terms of majestic power, which precisely accords with the meaning of the character. 'Taking the great trichiliocosm' explains 'might' (shì) by 'world' (shì): using power to take the world does not contradict his aspiration; because his aspiration is great, the buddha prophesied it for him. Because his aspiration takes the world, he is also named 'World Aspiration.' If treated by the four siddhāntas: Siyi is mundane, Beihua is for persons and antidotal, and from 'Jewel Treasury Buddha' onward is the supreme truth. It also lacks \[explanation according to\] the teachings. Origin and traces can be known by drawing analogies to the preceding and following; the text omits them.
