- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [2.23](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1720.2.23)

> Answer: Although it says "double again," it is ultimately impermanence; it differs only in being shorter or longer. If it were ultimately impermanent, there would ultimately be no latter remedy. If one claims that formerly it was short impermanence and now it is long impermanence, yet ultimately it is impermanence, then formerly it would have been the crude three and now the subtle three, yet ultimately there would still be three! If the three and the one correspond to each other, the former three must unite to become not-three; correspondingly, permanence and impermanence correspond to each other, and former impermanence now becomes not-impermanence.
