法華玄論 3.36

- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [3.36](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1720.3.36)

答：此皆影四五時教，故作是說耳。五時既不成，四宗自廢。又菩提留支，此云道希，其親翻《地論》但明半滿。留支是《地論》之宗，即知半滿有本。而依四宗無根，而輒信深，不測其所以也。

> Answer: These are all merely reflections of the teachings of the four or five periods, which is why they made such explanations. Since the five periods are already untenable, the four tenets naturally fall away. Furthermore, Bodhiruci—translated here as Daoxi—himself translated the Daśabhūmikā-śāstra and explained only the half-word and full-word \[teachings\]. Bodhiruci is the patriarch of the Dilun tradition, so we know that the half-word and full-word teachings have a basis; whereas relying on the four tenets has no root. Yet they arbitrarily place deep faith in them, not discerning the reason for this.
