> Answer: Prajñā is the contemplative mind of all buddhas and bodhisattvas; therefore all teachings clarify this dharma, and there are no buddhas or bodhisattvas who do not cultivate it. Furthermore, there are three kinds of prajñā: first, that which is practiced, namely the realm of the true mark, called 'real-mark prajñā'; second, the contemplation capable of practicing, called 'contemplative-illuminating prajñā'; third, that which is spoken for sentient beings, namely 'textual prajñā'. The realm that is practiced is the sphere of action of the buddhas and bodhisattvas; the mind capable of practice is the contemplation of the buddhas and bodhisattvas—these two are the virtue of self-\[benefit\]. Textual prajñā is the virtue of the doctrinal gate transforming others. These three encompass everything that all buddhas and bodhisattvas are able to practice and do practice, exhausting the meanings of benefiting oneself and transforming others. Although there are thousands of sūtras and myriads of treatises, they ultimately reveal this dharma; because all teachings enter into prajñā, the Prajñā is the greatest. How could Nāgārjuna have spoken empty words?
