- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.294](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1721.1.294)

> From "cultivating their bodies with compassion" downward: third, next praising their real essence, which also has two clauses: first, praising the body; next, praising the mind. Since the great beings have personally planted roots of virtue and now wish to lead sentient beings to plant good roots together, they accept physical bodies for the sake of beings, which is why their bodies are praised. Ordinary persons and the two vehicles receive bodies in the three realms through the perfuming of defilement and karma; bodhisattvas, through great unconditioned compassion, are able to manifest bodies in the six destinies. Hence Master Zhao said: "The dharmakāya has no arising, yet there is nowhere it does not arise; because it has no arising, the gates to the destinies are closed; because there is nowhere it does not arise, it is born in the five destinies."
