- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.356](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1721.1.356)

> Regarding “there were also the deva son Named Moon \[Candradevaputra\] and others”: the commentary states that they are the assisting ministers of Śakra. Some say that the deva son Moon is simply the moon deva \[Candra\]. “The deva son Universal Fragrance” refers to the star devas. “The deva son Jewel Light” refers to the deva son Sun \[Sūryadevaputra\]. Since these are the three luminaries, they are listed afterward; this comes from the Zheng fahua jing. Another sūtra states: “Avalokiteśvara is named Jewel Thought and acts as the deva son Sun; Mahāsthāmaprāpta is named Jewel Auspiciousness and acts as the deva son Moon; Ākāśagarbha is named Jewel Light and acts as the deva son Star.”
