> Regarding “Sāgara”: some say his name is taken from a country; he dwelt in the country of Sāgara. This country was situated near a ṛṣi; the king offended the ṛṣi, and the ṛṣi cursed the country, causing it to become an ocean. This dragon resided within it and took his name from his original country. Others say that Sāgara is the name of the ocean.
