- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [11.100](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1721.11.100)

> Among the merits of the tongue, two kinds of results are attained: first, the result of attaining superior flavor, meaning that all bitter and astringent substances, upon reaching the root of the tongue, all turn into superior flavors. This has two meanings: first, like the bad food of gods turning into superior flavors, and the fine food of hungry ghosts conversely turning into impurities; second, in the Buddha's throat there is an ambrosia spring which blends with all food so that it all becomes ambrosia; the person who now upholds the sūtra possesses this in accordance with their measure.
